Meet our 2023 Lawson Equine Team
Hello, my name is Kailla Watters. I work mainly as a mentor for kids with mental illness but have recently gotten my certification in Acuscope therapy. My plan for this season is to run the NRF Tour with my horse Vamanous, along with running rodeos. I can't be more excited to represent Lawson Equine for the 2023 year.
Hi, my name is Mackenzie Haas. I currently live in Knapp, Wisconsin and own three mares named Finley, Hickory and Paris. I graduated from UW Stout with my bachelors in rehabilitation services. I have a strong passion working with kids and horses. During the week I work with adolescents that struggle with their mental health and utilize equine therapy to help them overcome obstacles.
My name is Stacy Schultz. I’m mom to 2 teenager boys, (soon to be) 6 horses and 3 dogs. Professionally, I’m the Purchasing Manager for McMillan Electric. My goals for the year are to focus on my youngsters, get my old faithful back off maternity leave and encourage others in our sport. The last couple of years have been challenging but I’m persistent and will never stop showing up for my truest love. I’m grateful to represent Lawson Equine again this year.
Shelby Twardowsk is a small town girl from a tiny little town with a huge heart, Swanville MN. She's 12 years old and finishing 6th grade. Her true passion is her horses, but she also enjoys babysitting, softball, and volleyball. The accomplishments in the barrel pen that she is the most proud of in the last year are winning the 1D saddle at Sherry Cervi and winning the barrels at WSCA Champshow. God willing she has high hopes that with hard work and some great horsepower it will be another great year.
Hello, I'm Missy Drees and I'm a Registered Nurse by day and enjoying barrel racing and running road races myself in the summer. I enjoy challenging my fitness level and growing in the self development areas of life.
Hello, my name is Ashley Walstrom. I am from Mondovi WI, I run my own Insurance Agency through American National. I also have been training horses for over 10 years, working towards solely specializing in futurity horses. I am super excited to be representing Lawson Equine in 2023.
Hi, my name is Maddy Fruth! I currently own 3 sassy red mares all ages 5 and under, which keep me very busy. I can’t wait to see how they progress throughout the year at the futurities. I also recently just graduating nursing school and will be working as an RN! I am proud to be on the Lawson Equine time again this year.
Hi, I’m Riley Youngman, I’m from Centuria, WI. I train horse for others as well as raise and train horses for myself. This year I started growing my own breeding program and had 5 beautiful fillies born. This summer I plan on going to the NRF tour events as well as go to some of the WPRA rodeos. This is my third year old the Lawson Equine team and I am very excited to be back!
I am Jessica Conklin and I live in NE Iowa on my family farm with my husband, Charles, and daughters, Kaylynn and Madison. I was riding horses before I could walk and am a generational barrel racer on both sides of my family. I love spending time with my family experiencing new things outside of horses. I also enjoy helping our youth and have spent time coaching volleyball and basketball.
Hi, my name is Casey Wurm! My husband and I live in Kimball, MN with our Mini Ausie, Ladah, and my 2 mares, Bailey, and Brandy. When I'm not barrel racing, you can find me in the sorting pen chasing cows! My other hobbies include coaching and playing volleyball and enjoying time at the lake with my husband and family at our cabin! I'm excited to see where this year takes me in and outside of the arena, and I'm blessed to be representing Lawson Equine again this year! God Bless!
